Programme

Preparing to conceive (Dr Lisa Joels)

What are the things you need to know right from the start? This session will cover a wide range of both medical considerations and essential information about having a baby in Cayman. It will help you feel relaxed and confident, allowing you to feel in control at all stages of something that may be very new, especially if Cayman is not your home country.

Optimising health – higher risk pregnancies and pre-existing medical conditions (Dr Madhavi Manoharan)

From having a baby later in life, to understanding the range of health, lifestyle and medical conditions that could mean you might have a higher risk pregnancy, Dr Madhavi will ensure you go forward with a sensible perspective and a practical plan on how to ensure you have a wonderful, but also safe pregnancy on route to parenthood.

Getting fit for pregnancy (Midwife Allie Campbell)

Pregnancy is obviously going to put some demands on your body and is certainly going to stimulate a few changes! Allie will help you take a real-world approach to managing health, wellness and vitality. Practical advice, essential understanding but without the usual idealism.

A positive test – what next (Dr Lisa Joels)

Finally, we focus on the true beginning of the journey, with a look at what happens and needs to happen when you get that positive result. Focused on practical next steps and early considerations, it’s designed to allow you to be excited about the journey, not anxious.
