Despite all of the odds thrown at her, Dr Lisa has not only made it here, but cleared mandatory isolation and is now accepting patients (with an early rush, it seems). We are so delighted to welcome Lisa.
Lisa joins us with ‘quite a lot’ of experience. Make that 34 years experience… in UK obstetrics and gynaecology with, with no less than 19 years as a consultant in tertiary (regional centres of excellence) hospitals. She is unusual in that her interests truly span women’s health, especially within the disciplines related to having a baby. This includes:
- Obstetrics, especially women-centred obstetric care focused on safety
- Fertility, where she ran one of the most respected tertiary fertility services in the South West
- Child & Adolescent Gynaecology, for which she was service lead, and
- Adult Gynaecology, with a special interest in women-centric care

Being a tertiary senior doctor, Lisa has considerable gynaecology diagnostic, treatment and surgery experience, with an interest in minimally-invasive laparoscopic surgery, including with an interest in child and adolescent gynaecology. “I am very committed to offering a sensitive, women-focused approach to gynaecology,” says Lisa, “but this is never more important than when dealing with some of the sensitivities of gynae care in our young ladies, who are often dealing with issues or difficulties at an emotionally volatile time in life”. Partly she puts her interest in this area to having brought up two daughters of her own, now at University.
Dr Francisco Martinez, Director of Integra Healthcare, joined in welcoming Lisa “we are very lucky to have a doctor of Lisa’s experience join us here in the Cayman Islands. I have many patients who have traditionally travelled to USA for some of the things that Lisa is very experienced in. It’s fantastic that we now have that expertise on island. Welcome, Lisa.”
