Our Ophthalmic surgeon performs a wide range of ophthalmic surgical procedures, including:

• Minor procedures 
• Cataract surgery (including combined procedures)
• Strabismus (squint) surgery in adults and children
• Oculoplastic surgery (eyelid and periorbital procedures) and “surfers’ eyes or pterygium removal 
• Intravitreal therapy and Steroid injections (anti-VEGF injections such as Eylea (Aflibercept) or Vabysmo (Faricimab) for retinal conditions including wet AMD and diabetic macular oedema)
• Laser treatments (including Retinal laser photocoagulation and glaucoma laser; Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT), Yag Laser Peripheral Iridotomies.
• Ocular trauma surgery

Our Ophthalmology service provides rapid-access Consultant-Led assessment and management for urgent and emergency eye conditions across the Cayman Islands.

Working in coordination with Doctors Hospital and the wider Integra Healthcare and Cayman Island Medical team, we support timely evaluation and treatment of conditions including and not limited to:

• Sudden vision loss
• Retinal tears and suspected retinal detachment
• Acute glaucoma
• Eyelid injuries and ocular trauma
• Severe eye infections requiring urgent specialist care
• New onset double vision or neurological visual symptoms
• Severe eye pain or inflammation

Access to prompt specialist assessment locally helps reduce avoidable vision loss and supports timely treatment when urgent care is required.

• Retinal tears managed with Laser Retinopexy
• Screening for drug toxicities including Hydroxychloroquine / Plaquenil 
• Uveitis and ocular inflammation
• Strabismus (squint) in children and adults
• Dry eye disease and ocular surface conditions
• Eyelid conditions (oculoplastics)
• Neuro-ophthalmic conditions including Optic nerve, visual pathway and motility conditions, including Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, Pituitary pathologies screening, pre-and post-operative neurosurgery or post stroke screening
